Okay, it’s time to stop being coy, and just tell it like it is: Black Friday, a mere two days from today, is release day for my Christmas novella!! So here are the full details, at long last:
Light is Book 7.5 of The Brazen Bulls MC. It takes place during the 2001 holidays, from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day. That’s near the end of the timeline for Stand, Book 7 (the most recent Bulls release to date). There’s a bit of overlap, but not much. This book is firmly focused on the leads and their love, and the club stays mostly in the background.
Light is Fitz’s story.
I’ve had quite a few requests for Fitz’s story since he was first introduced as a prospect, in Blaze. That surprised me a little, because he hadn’t really “popped” for me as a possible lead when I started getting questions about him. But those questions put him in my head, I guess, and eventually, I had an idea forming for him. I’m really glad, too, because, with this novella in the mix, he became a pretty important figure in the eighth and final book as well (Becker’s story, which is upcoming in March).
Incidentally, I think maybe readers got interested in Fitz because they saw my visual inspiration for him on my Bulls Pinterest board: Jake Franklin. The visual inspo for his love is Ashley Graham. I’ve updated the whole Brazen Bulls Pinterest board, btw.
If Fitz caught your interest, however he caught your interest, and you let me know about it, I thank you. I love this novella, I love Fitz and Kari, and I love how it added to the series story. I don’t know if I would have had the idea if you hadn’t put him in my head.
If you hadn’t been thinking of Fitz at all until now, I think you’re going to love him after you read his story. He’s such a good guy.
As this is a Christmas novella, I turned Lola’s attention elsewhere and didn’t let her feast on this couple. Not everything is bright and light at the beginning of this story (it is, after all, the end of 2001, which was a hard year for the Bulls and the world, and Fitz is going through some personal shit, too), but this is not a typically violent Bulls installment. This is a holiday story about finding the light and seeing the way.
Here’s the Goodreads page.
Here’s the description:
Tulsa, Oklahoma, Christmas 2001.
Roland “Fitz” Fitzgerald is having the worst holiday season of his life. His blood family is falling apart, and his chosen family is badly hurt and struggling to get back on its feet. He became a member of the Brazen Bulls MC to find brotherhood and a purpose for his life, but everywhere he turns, all he sees are dark shadows.
There was light in his life once, but he lost it long ago.
Kari Kovacs’ life isn’t perfect, but she’s content in it. She’s got her job, her friends, her family—most important of which is her young son, the light of her life. She devotes her attention to him and has decided neither she nor he needs more.
She had a different kind of love once, but she doesn’t let herself dwell on its loss.
On Thanksgiving Day, when Fitz is caught in a dark tempest of heartbreaking trouble, he runs into Kari. Their past rekindles at once. By New Year’s Day, their lives, and their futures, are full of light.
